Boat docks come in many sizes and shapes.
Most all docks are either considered "fixed"
or "floating" or a combination of both.
Choosing the right type of dock
for the environment it will be subjected to
is the key to maximizing
your investment and enjoyment.
Let our experience lead you in the right direction
Fixed Docks
Fixed docks are elevated from the normal water level typically on wood or steel pilings. Cross-braced for stability this type of dock is similar to a traditional deck over water. The only material touching water is the pilings and cross-bracing.

Floating Docks
Floating docks use a series of floatation blocks beneath the framing to make them buoyant. This type of dock will rise and fall with the water level. A floating structure is usually hinged together with a ramp connected to a fixed structure. Most floating docks have a fixed dock incorporated into the design. In most cases one or more piling is driven next to a floating dock to limit the movement caused by boat wakes.
